If you can lay your hands on the right ring cleaner kit, then you wont need different solutions for gold and silver. I havent seen actual tin foil in decades. Silver jewelry gets tarnished in the long run especially if it is constantly exposed to oxygen and sulfur in the air. Once it is neutralized you can pour the mix in the drain. While its convenient to clean your jewelry at home, theres nothing quite like a cleaning from the source itself. Not a good ides.. They do their detailing with oxidation which will be striped if you use this or silver polish and will turn out looking very gross! I used the liquid Connoisseur silver polish yesterday and it is definitely strong.

Help! Most of the techniques used by Native artisans involve sawdust or other filler under the stone. Hi dear, Hand wash is good, but with lots of silver to wash I have run it through the dishwasher on hottest with household strength ammonia (in glasses turned on side) instead of dishwasher powder. This works soooo well. I also succesfully use tooth paste and a brush to clean my jewlery, when Im out of backing soda. For brass you may like to use a paste of tartaric acid and dishwashing liquid. No way am I hand polishing a 70 piece set, and some buyers may be sensitive to chemicals. I would just like to let Anon. You can also use MSG to clean silver. Most stores will do this for free!

Buffing silver isnt new and people have been doing it for millennia now, spray 2 coats of tarnish-me-not and it wont tarnish! We cant all know everything about everything. let stand for 1 or 2 minutes, then wash it in cold water and dry it with a cotton or microfiber cloth. thanks Melissa , I am going to try it , what if I used apple cider vinegar ? Do Not use this method very often it strips the silver plate off the pieces, so can end up with only bare metal, no silver. One piece, a Christmas star, looked perfectly fine, until I lifted it out of its storage slot and saw the other side was cratered like the moon, and that gel gunk coated the foam slot. Years ago we were told to use ammonia mixed with detergent.
