Initially it is like big blast of generic citrus. So Happy I invested in this one. It's a very pleasant and fresh fragrance for summer, pretty classy and foreseeable just like the other Chances. I've been in love with Chance L'Eau Tendre from the first days of it's appearance on the market. I love the original Chance but somehow only smell pineapples And it becomes a bit overwhelming at times. I also smell Jasmine. (I didn't really like Chance Eau Tendre when I tried it in the past - too young and cakey sweet for me.) This started off AWESOME. Un acqua VIVA, moltomeno viva di quel che credevo! Chance and Coco are sisters maybe - Coco is what you wear in the cold with the knits, and Chance is what you wear in the heat with the silks. just because its chanel? 
Got this as a free sample from a Chanel order. And it woukd have been good if it was just so - to my nose, after an hour on my wrist it started to smell quite harsh and grating, and I realized it was the iris. Knowing me knowing you, it's not the best I can do. For some reason it really reminds me of the pricey air freshener i once used for my car. I'll try it again, but it looks like my brothers girlfriend, who loves anything from Chanel, has a 1.7 oz bottle coming to her. I love this smell, it is so discrete yet classy, fresh and adorable. Imagine you peeled some citrus fruit and that burst of freshness hits you. It's also pretty generic, doesn't really smell innovative or unique to me. so maybe it's a good option for a work wear scent? Pleasant. Something about it isexciting? Also noticeable is the jasmine and sexy iris to lock in that date-night feel during warm summer evenings. This is quite nice on my skin and probably the only one I like in the Chance line. Soapy iris and grapefruit. :). First spray I was in love, but something turned on me as I continued shopping. The very next day, I wore a robe that I had sprayed Eau Vive on. The warm weather really brought out the beauty in this juice! If you like fresh fragrances and wanted something a little more classy this is a lovely fresh fragrance to own. I imagine a woman in her 30s wearing this. Although Im not exactly sure which one anymore as Daisy got a looot! This is the freshie I will go to for Spring & Summer because that creamy white floral with the citruses is just so good to me personally. I wished Eau Tendre will work for me, when I put it it turns to a generic white floral and mediocre citrus that smells unisex. It takes time to show itself. Top notes are very very citrusy. Classy, fresh, iris adds interest. I don't like iris, but in this scent it doesn't bother me a bit. It's almost like a very fresh rose, a young blossom. Ooh. What a disappointment! Classy, but approachable. Smells like all the chances put together but much lighter. Its just me, because Eau Tendre smells amazing like as described ingredients on my friends. Once my sample is done, I am going to purchase a full bottle to wear during the Summer. The base is musky, possibly even with a bit of dry sandalwood, somewhat sensual. The bottles have to be my favorite, such a clean and beautiful design. This without a doubt is my FAVOURITE Chanel fragrance, followed closely by Coco Mademoiselle. On me, it smells like a soft spicy citrus..hope they come out with other products in it for layering. I just don't know why someone would want to wear something so boring that doesn't leave any impression. This light, inoffensive scent opens with a burst of citrus - mostly grapefruit with some slightly tart orange. I agree with the fact that this isn't such a complex fragrance as most Chanel perfumes are. The scent is made of quality ingredients however in the end I respected the sent but didn't like it. It's slightly crisp/fresh, but not as fresh as Eau Fraiche or as dry as Chance.
The scent is lovely:) I love Chanel fragrances and i'm also very critical about some issues concerning them , mostly the ridiculous watered down N.5 edt of the past decade ( i don't miss one opportunity to mention this lol). If we were to categorize chance eau tendre vs eau vive, I'd say eau tendre is the younger carefree sister whereas eau vive is serious, knows what she wants but does know how to have a good time when she feels it's appropriate. The zesty citrus opening is sadly gone in a flash, but the heart and bottom are good too if exceedingly short-lived. It's just blah. The drydown was too masculine for my taste, with dry cedar and heavy vetiver drowning out the citruses. I had it about to finish it and will not be repurchasing. I tried it at a mall and found it too meh so I didnt plan to buy it because I said to myself I could get better value with another perfume. But though it opens with a citrus blast, this citrus fades quite fast. Over the years, I've fallen in love with Eau Tendre (especially love the EDP) and most recently Eau Vive. Then, it started to dry down. I believe that much of the dislike for this perfume is because many people feel strongly that Chanel can do better (and I do agree). If you like Eau Premiere, you will like Eau Vive as well. The first time it was just horribly soapy on me, not much else. Just terrible. It's very feminine, non-offensive and pleasant. The opening is gold, cold and soapy.. Ohhhh Me and Chanel .Totally in love :) X. Ok so earlier I reviewed this, and at the time I figured it was a scent that was nice, but one that was so-so & I'd never buy the bottleI was wrong. Eau Fraiche too masculine? Longevity and projection as expected for an EDT. I think there's too much cedar; and it's a damp, mildewy cedar for me. Nothing super unique but very likable and inoffensive. Performed well on me, unlike most Chanels. I tried it for the second time now on skin and like it better than before. To me, it is just Chance EDP with strong jasmine notes. So far I love it. Love it. I guess it's the citrus that does the trick. The more I wear this scent, the more I fall in love with it. A pleasant, daytime, non offensive scent. Such a crowd pleaser. Top: grapefruit and blood orange, heart: jasmine, base: cedar and iris. When I purchased this I was thinking this would be a special occasion scent, but it is so fresh and long lasting I love to wear it every day. The most floral of chance series. I also get grapefruit in the opening. For a Chanel?BOWLING? It smells like a sweet fresh rose to my nose, but now looking at the notes there is no rose. You just have to give it the right chance. The notes look attractive at first, but I wouldn't give money for it. I could barely smell it!!!!! Wish it lasted longer on my skin, but it's so pleasant and happy making, I can forgive the performance. I liked it and was given a small decant sample.
I sampled this in the store, did two sprays. 2 years later, I'm finally halfway through my 100ml bottle and my hearts breaking a little. I foresee women who work in corporate settings wearing this to the office because it's so lovely and refined, and would turn heads. A burst of grapefruit..a lot of grapefruits! I've had this since it came out.
It is certain that it smells expensive, pleasant and you do not need to carry a bottle, because durability is phenomenal. A nightmare! I am afraid of discontinuance. Eau vive is breathtaking. I was so disappointed and I gave it to my mother (who needed new fragrances and isn't picky on scents) and even she isn't interested in it. Then the original Chance EDP became my go to in the line, I have it and I like even though I could not stand it before. Unfortunately it isn't, to me it's pretty ordinary. Something, that could easily become my everyday scent. I have the Eau Tendre as well and I find both extremely good. The fragrance does turn floral on the skin as well,some mixing of jasmine and iris,and then it's reminiscent of Eau Premiere. My favourite of all the Chance range. If you're yearning for sunny spring days and breezy summer evenings, then this might cheer you up! So if you're from somewhere colder than the SUPER hot tropic of Sri Lanka, don't be afraid to get this. it definitely smells expensive and luxurious. Eau Vive opens with lots of citrus notes, fresh and zesty, with something sweet and floral underneath. It a great fresh, soapy grapefruit fragrance. Great summer scent. The top notes are quite generic and disappointing, so I can understand the frustration, but you have to wait and let it bloom on your skin - it's really magical. The nose behind this fragrance is Olivier Polge. This is like Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Noir, without the Noir. Chance Eau Vive, for me, is a big fat watery fail I'm afraid. The drydown is nice but nothing you haven't seen before. Base notes of the composition mix vetiver, cedar and iris, leaving a fresh, gentle, elegant and subtle trail. Somethings are just funny: my first passion in this line was the Eau Fraiche. It's perfect for spring and summer days. Chanel Chance eau Vive is a nice and elegant perfume. The reason? It's a very nostalgic fragrance for me and transports me to Paris where I smelled it for the first time upon release in 2002. I think I may like this more than eau tendre. Citruses, cedar and iris. I have a sample of it from Sephora and want to go back to buy a bottle of it. CHANEL CHANCE EAU VIVE is signed by perfumer Olivier Polge who blends sparkling notes of grapefruit with juicy, explosive red orange, providing citrus splash to elegant jasmine and white musk. It such a fun scent to wear that has a good projection and lasted all day before I might, add a extra spray. But then this beauty arrived a few days ago and I'm really enjoying her! This one may not impress a more discerning nose because of it's simplicity, but it is so easy for me to like and wear. Last much longer than you expect for an EDT 6 + hours. It opens really sharp and, well, citrusy and also quite masculine. I'm not a big fan of citrus, though I can appreciate a good one (Chance eau fraiche). The drydown is a soft sweet musk/white floral mix on a soapy cedar base and a bit of grapefruit on top. The overall effect is of a musky soap bar with bitter citrus notes hovering over it. In theory, I like Eau Fraiche but find it too "astringent" for me. Unlike the previous flankers, this doesn't remind me of Chanceit seems like a completely different fragrance. This is a beautiful citrus scent that is perfect for those hot spring or summer days. Simply put, Eau Tendre and Eau Fraiche just smell better. Oh my gosh I finally got a sample of this with my Chanel No 19 order and this is so good. This is one of the best citrus compositions I have come into contact with, because the citruses are presented in a very elegant, sweet way. Smelled it on a friend. This is a playful grapefruit fragrance that echoes chanel but is probably something i would give a child. Later edit: I decided to give it a serious try. What's not to like about citruses, jasmine & musk? Chance Eau Vive was launched in 2015. It helps if you are a citrus lover because this is definitely a scent for citrus lovers. Soapy and clean equals win. Yesterday, I decided to test it out again. Smells so masculine on my skin. It's also very, very elegant, with that unmistakable Chanel vibe. Online right now: 2,765, Fragrantica in your language: I can smell almost nothing else. The citrus adds to the jasmine making it sweet and so ever pretty. Really nice and elegant fragrance, but unfortunately too bitter on my skin. Fragrantica Trends is a relative value that shows the interest of Fragrantica members in this fragrance over time. As Chanel Chance Eau Tendre smells something like the Original Daisy by Marc Jacobs this one also smells something like one of its flankers. However, the base let me down. It's excellent.
Because it literally smells like nothing. (Pretty much the same review from my old username, just updated). I like to overspray this so that the dry down can shine later in the day. Original Chance too mature? thats my opinion any way. After a few days of wearing it I still like it, but I wore Lucky You by Liz Claiborne in college and this is its dupe. This also tends to be a little masculine to some skin chemistry such as mine with some citrus notes.In totality not a bad perfume. This without a doubt is my all time favourite fragrance, also followed very closely by Versace Eros pour Femme. The zesty citrus notes are gorgeous and the dry down brings about another dimension with the jasmine and musk. Both women and men love this. Perfect in the heat. It's absolutely NOT a basic fresh smelling musky smell. It lasted very long for me 6-8 hours.. I have had a bottle of original Chance EDT or EDP in my collection for years. This fragrance is a strong citrus. Needless to say I really wanted it to work on me. This perfume is not a showgirl in the window baring it all.It is sophisticated, elegant and sheer quality. On my skin, the different notes aren't very noticable. It should be right there next to Eau Tendre, not all the way on the bottom with the hair mists! Its a very universal perfume and you can't go wrong with it, but test first. I won't buy it because of the price but I find it very beautiful nonetheless. Longevity is very good. Definitely try before you buy. It's a masterpiece in my opinion. Eau Frache is a bit woodier and Eau Vive has a distinct blood orange note. It reminds me of Coco Mademoiselle with a hint of the original Chance. Very easy to wear, not challenging in any ways. The same happens with Chanel's Chance Eau Tendre EDT, but has never happened when using scents from the Coco Mademoiselle collection.
