A noticeable change in the midsole I need to point out is that while the Launch 7 had the same density the whole way through, you certainly notice a dense forefoot feel. The firm shoe features a 10mm heel to toe offset and weighs in at 8oz for women, 9oz for men. The Brooks Launch 7 is an ideal shoe for lower-mileage runners who prefer a very firm ride. I found the Launch 7 was a great shoe for those people who like a denser midsole and have that tendency to run with more propulsion and don't want to sink into the foam as much. Consistent with the rest of the shoe, the Launch 7 heel counter and tongue are somewhat firm and inflexible, but they are also smooth.
