Also, as you get older you may wish to ditch the engagement ring apart from special occasions. Sometimes it's just easier to slip one on rather than both, and also for comfort if I'm swollen. I got mine soldered so the band wouldnt twist around. My skin is incredibly sensitive and having them move differently on my finger would drove me crazy. If my moms ring had been soldered she would have got less money for them. My jeweler didnt want to do it at first because they thought I might want to wear them separately but I never do it, Id say the only con is that the ring becomes much thicker so its harder to take off when my fingers are a little puffy (when its really hot out or sometimes when I first wake up).
